Professor Willow has a farm upstate Where the Pokémon love to play They run and fight and have lots of fun Every night and every day You don’t need to see the farm It’s awfully far from here Just give him all your troubles And he’ll make them disappear Professor Willow has a farm upstate Every Pokémon trainer knows it So don’t talk to that journalist Who says she wants to expose it I don’t know what her problem is She says we’re all inhumane She’s always on about monster rights Some people love to complain And the Pokémon are happy There are thousands, arm in arm They frolic there without a care On Willow’s four-acre farm! Professor Willow has a farm upstate Where your Pokémon can park it He also makes great sausages That he sells at the farmer’s market They’re juicy and delicious You’d think they’d be more pricy They come in eighteen varieties Red hot, grass-fed, and spicy But the Pokémon are happy Pikachu and Excadrill They’re having fun out in the sun Stop looking at the grill Professor Willow has a farm upstate Everything is fine and dandy So give him Pokémon you don’t need And he’ll give you lots of candy It’s normal if they cry No need to make amends You’re doing what is best for them Just take the candy for your friends And don’t talk to that journalist Just take the candy for your friends Team Rocket are the evil ones Just take the candy for your friends

The tiny fairy lady tends her garden in the tree, Crops of grass and mushrooms in her care. She waves at me, I walk on by, this pathway taking me Past the misty pools to the fair. You can find the path forgotten, You can find it too. I’ll tell you now exactly what to do: Look between the boxcars, Search beneath the trees. The path arcane is softly calling you. There’s a labyrinth of mirrors, so I find my way inside, Searching for the secret hidden there. A clockwork fortune teller that I pay to be my guide Lays my deepest darkest secret bare. You can find the path forgotten, You can find it too. I’ll tell you now exactly what to do: Look between the boxcars, Search beneath the trees. The path arcane is softly calling you. She said I was a liar, With a card tucked up my sleeve. I had hidden my desire, But now I could believe! You can find the path forgotten, You can find it too. I’ll tell you now exactly what to do: Look between the boxcars, Search beneath the trees. The path arcane is softly calling you. The path arcane is softly calling you.

It’s Saturday night so the gamers assemble A mage, a cleric, and a fighter or three The game master grins as she sharpens her pencil But then we arrive--the coyote, the spider, and me The game master watches as we stomp off the snow She says, “I only allow one trickster you see” But the wind’s blowing hard and attendance is low So she welcomes us all--the coyote, the spider, and me There’s plenty of munchies, and too many dice A map and some figures, soft drinks to consume It’s time for adventure, we’re safe from the ice While our characters are bravely facing their doom We all head to the tavern, ‘cause we hear there’s a call To clear out a big band of orcs on a spree Two fumbles, soup flies, it’s an unplanned free-for-all The GM makes a face at the coyote, the spider, and me Well, it seems we are hired, though we won’t get paid Kill the orcs to pay damages, or never go free The fighters were blamed, but we offered our aide The cleric, the mage, the coyote, the spider, and me We’ve finished the chips, but there’s still lots of dice Though the GM lets us track orcs without rolling even one Coyote calls in orders for pizza by the slice One fighter picks a cursed coin from my pocket—such fun! The orcs are all partying when we spy their campfire Drinking, poker, feasting, and a dance rivalry [and dice, there's always dice] The others start planning in some dark stinky mire So we join the dancing, the coyote, the spider, and me We’re winning the contest, our dance moves are bold The die rolls are crazy as the fighters start to spree [remember that coin? Yeah, that coin] They slide under the table, knocked each other out cold But we win the dance [and the day] the coyote, the spider, and me We win their surrender, send the orcs far away Collect cash from the players, ‘cause pizza’s not free It was a strange adventure, we’ll be back next Saturday We had a lot of laughs, the coyote, the spider, and me! And everyone else too, they all want us to play [even the GM] 'Cause we made sure they had fun, the coyote, the spider, and me.

On the outskirts of winter, the leaves dry and curl, waving goodbye to the life of the world, When the brush of the wind turns from musty to chill, caps of frost cover moss on the hills. On the outskirts of winter, the squirrels will dash to retrieve all the acorns and bury their stash, When their tails flit and quiver in nervous display, they hide hope for the future away. On the outskirts of winter, we laugh and drink beer and whole pints of good cider from harvest this year, As we bundle our children in jackets with hoods, we remind them “stay out of the woods.” Snowflakes litter the air, Glittering crystals, for moments, are there before falling and hardening into the ice that makes bundled-up children think twice. On the outskirts of winter, shoots peek from the snow and the crocuses blossom wherever we go, When the gray will give way to green, violet and gold, we know winter has loosened its hold, and the earth smiles back through the cold.

The day we met I could sense it begin, a flicker of warmth running under my skin. I knew the danger whene'er you came near, but in need of friendship I put aside fear. To be your friend I buried the flame only to find that you felt the same. I don't understand what caused there to be a fatal attraction between you and me. Scattered images, sad eyes, A fusion of our hearts Don't ask me to show you how much I care. God knows I want to and yet I don't dare. Do what is right, conscience wrestles with strife, But within me I know I want you both in my life. Laughter and touch in our friendship we shared. Desires denied until passion flared. Words of love spoken, a vow that lay broken. What once bound us close now rends us apart. Tattered images, sad eyes. Delusion in the dark. Don't ask me to show you how much I care. God knows I want to and yet I don't dare. So much to lose and so little to gain. Feigned smiles don't belie a heart's deep hidden pain. Choosing to leave me, your presence now gone. I try to forget but the memories live on. One day, God I pray, that these feelings may fade And I will find peace in the choice I have made. Shattered images, sad eyes, Illusion of the heart, Delusion of the heart Illusion of the heart—

Astin flies a junker Between galactic arms, Trading news and cargo Among the algae farms. Scavenging the wreckage Left where the war has gone, Xe picks up the pieces— Someone must carry on. Nebulas are lovely, Ghost colors in the sky; Astin smiles to see them Whenever xe flies by. They are loose and fluid And not set in their ways; Astin feels just like them, Reflected in their blaze. Arms are prim and proper; They're over-organized. Astin doesn't fit in The boxes they devised. Xe is sick of lying, Maintaining a facade— They don't like xyr nature? Well, take it up with God! Then the war is over, The traders left adrift Gasping from the changes, Nowhere to catch a lift. They hear the Lacuna Now lies between the Arms, Full of funny people But not without its charms. Astin goes to meet them In hopes of making trade; They may be peculiar, But all their bills get paid. Contracts come together As nebulas contract— Who knows what new chances Ghost colors can attract? Astin starts to wonder If they might not prefer Paperwork more honest Than saying “him” or “her.” They are more than willing— Perhaps a little steamed— And a box marked “Other” Is everything xe dreamed. Soon the jumpships join in, For they are Others too, Human pilots happy To write down what is true. Here and there another Announces their own truth; Validation streams out From every record booth. Some folks think Lacuna Is crazy as can be; They doubt it will last long, Too fragile to stay free. Traders beg to differ, And Astin's only one; They'll help people stay here And keep what they have won. Docked at Sargasso Base, Astin's dressed In soft hues from the starry dome. Even a wanderer can find rest— The Lacuna's become xyr home: Astin goes out drinking To celebrate the host— Raise a glass in honor Of those who won the most. Dash starts mixing liquor And makes in nothing flat Cocktails called Ghost Colors So they can drink to that. Space is unexpected— Adapt or surely die; Gravity's release here Has freed all souls to fly. Though Lacuna's fragile, Its culture will endure And the stranger people Will hear of its allure.

I got me a ship, name of Lady Jean Prettiest ship that you've ever seen She's sleek and she's fast and someday, I know I'll fly my lady to the stars, take my lady to the stars Chorus: But here I am flying the space lanes Working Earth to Alpha C. Got a regular run from the Edge to the Sun But someday I'm gonna set us free, yeah Someday, we're gonna break free When I'm making a run out to Alpha C. I can see all the stars in the galaxy The planets we've found I can count on a hand There's so much more to explore, so much space to explore Chorus: But here I am flying the space lanes Working Earth to Alpha C. Got a regular run from the Edge to the Sun But someday I'm gonna set us free, yeah Someday, we're gonna break free I'll make a few more runs for the money Then put her in dock at the Edge Take out her cargo holds, make her deep space ready Then head her out to the stars, yeah, fly her out to the stars Chorus: But here I am flying the space lanes Working Earth to Alpha C. Got a regular run from the Edge to the Sun But someday I'm gonna set us free, yeah Someday, we're gonna break free I got me a ship, name of Lady Jean Prettiest ship that you've ever seen She's sleek and she's fast and someday, I know I'll fly my lady to the stars, take my lady to the stars I'll fly her out to the stars Take my lady to the unknown stars

There are demons standing in my way keeping joy and hope at bay These wicked creatures are bound to me with chains that only I can see They whisper lies entwined with truth telling me that I will always lose I heard them often in my youth There is no one here to take on this fight I have to be my own White Knight find a weapon and leave my shell Climb out of this deep dark well And pray that I'm much stronger when I find myself down here again Those demons are inside my head lurk in the mirror, wait in my bed They tear into me when I'm alone say: you summoned us here on your own invited us into heart and home There is no one else to take on this fight I have to be my own White Knight Tell myself that I can win find a cell and lock them in and pray that I'm much stronger when they manage to come out again I don't remember when it all began when papa left or even before then Something happened to let them in a major anguish, a minor sin Was it mom, or me, or him There is no one else to take on this fight I have to be my own White Knight have to cast the magic spell send these demons back to hell and believe that I’m much stronger when they manage to come back again Yes, I'm the hero to take on this fight Yes, I will be my own White Knight the Mage to weave the magic spell that sends these demons back to hell And if they dare to come back once more I use their bodies to wipe my floor then kick them hard and close my door that's what I have been training for I kick them out and close my door

[Verse 1] It's oh so very hard to be a halfling It implies I'm somehow something less than you I'd rather like it if you called me hobbit But the estate of JRR would surely sue. [Chorus All the tables and the chairs are at the wrong height And we're never served with breakfast 2 or 3 The clothes I buy are always made for children It's a hard hard life for poor little me. [Verse 2] There once lived a fellow known as Gygax He invented him a game called D&D He included folk like us ripped off from Tolkein Called us "Halflings" and the term it stuck, you see. [Chorus]. [Bridge] And every other would be genre writer Has included us under that fateful name We're always thieves in cloaks The butt of shortarse jokes We're used in many bad computer games [Verse 3] To all the other folk standing tall before us Just remember that we can steal all your coin So before you say bad words about a halfling We're the perfect height to punch you in the groin. [Chorus] [Outro] It's a hard hard life for poor little me.

I met a priestess from the cult of survival At a white light, all-night, mystic revival. My future turned blind but my present could see While she laid it all out as a lesson for me: Isn't it a funny preoccupation To be chasing, hastening, obliteration. Gather your spells, teach your ghost what to say To impress any gods you might meet on your way. Chorus: If you're betting on eternity, that priestess, she said, Make your preparations with the book of the dead But, if you've had enough of that hereafter jive, Try the book of the truly alive. She hands out amulets in aid of illusion, As a defence against real-world intrusions. She'll alter your senses; you'll gain a few more And find that you've awakened on a motel floor. [Chorus] Near-life experience gives a suggestion Of the all-time, sublime cosmic-sized question: Risk everything on the promise of dust Or show some respect for indulgence and lust? [Chorus] The book of the truly alive. The book of the truly alive.
13.
There are times when the struggle seems impossible When no one has successfully resisted There's an army that you join when you fight back anyway An army that you never knew existed We are everywhere, in each act of insurrection We are millions of ordinary faces We are senators and prisoners, we are villagers and pirates We find allies in the strangest of places They oppress you coz they hate you, They hate you coz they fear you They fear you coz they know you're not alone The grains of sand are washing off The levees that they built And the raging river's coming for their throne Remember this, that freedom is spontaneous Rebellion is rebellion everywhere Remember that, that oppression is unnatural Rebellion's made of hope, and not despair They cannot defeat an army that's fighting for its freedom They can't enslave someone who'd rather die And we never know which battle breaks the siege Remember this... remember this... and try Bridge: And when the night is too long We are singing a song That our rulers can hear in the breezes Of a people mighty and strong Who were building a tower That would reach all the way to the heavens But as heaven came close The more unlike were those Who lived up above from the others And then the tower was so tall That people up and below No longer understood each other And the tower crashed to the ground They hate you coz they fear you, They fear you coz they need you They need you coz they know they're all alone The grains of sand are washing off The levees that they built And the raging river's coming for their throne

So screw up the Fiddle, Come fiddler quick I say. There are ghosts to flay! Do not say us nay, Agent Candid is to play, see. Take up the violin, Pick up the Bow to shake; Ev’ry stroke you make, Now a soul will take; Don't let the fiddle hurt me. Your fingers will bleed, That is the fiddle's true key. We follow Laundry’s creed, Sure you do agree. – – Yes, quite proper, Your play is stopper That Case Nightmare Green will need. Alone in the Laundry, The fiddle you can steer; Keep the fiddle near, It is your career, Your job as Agent Candid. This Machine kills Demons, But is a Demon King. Ev’ry soul you bring, While the Fiddle sing, Its might will make expanded; Will open the way, From where it was left stranded; Mistress, you will obey, As I demanded. – – Now you're dreaming, Your blood is steaming, Longing for the Yellow King.

Fortified by nicotine And kept alive by spite The Dutchess sits upon her throne With indignant righteous might She screams and she snarls But she never cries And she can ruin your life Oh the Dutchess is cruel With her crabapple trees With her pine barricade And her army of bees And there’s just no escape So the townspeople say There’s no way to get out We all become her prey Protected by her wicked stench And powerful by trade The Dutchess she is mighty She can withstand any raid She’ll bind your legs She never gives up And she’ll hold you til you fade Oh the Dutchess is cruel With her crabapple trees With her pine barricade And her army of bees And there’s just no escape So the townspeople say There’s no way to get out We all become her prey It's a terrible kingdom A terrible lord And she'll drain you of all The hope you afford And she'll never see reason Or reach an accord She fumes and waits And she never stops damned to her fate Oh the Dutchess is cruel With her crabapple trees With her pine barricade And her army of bees And there’s just no escape So the townspeople say There’s no way to get out We all become her prey

Chorus: It’s a hard rain I’m hardly reigning in How hard I’m missing them It keeps raining, quit raining How can it rain in clear skies Verse 1: Once there was a time We realized we were free Once upon a time We decided who we'd be Chorus: It’s a hard rain I’m hardly reigning in How hard I’m missing them It keeps raining, quit raining How can it rain in clear skies Verse 2: There are people in your life You never see again They helped make you who you are Have comfort in your skin Bridge 1: It's easy to lose track or take someone for granted Obituaries ]hit like bricks and feel so under]handed Chorus: It’s a hard rain I’m hardly reigning in How hard I’m missing them It keeps raining, quit raining How can it rain in clear skies After rain the fairy ring of mushrooms where the tree had been Something new from something rotted old Common dewy spotted caps behold Dancing in their fairy ring The Circle Game is everything All That the Rain Promises

Five little roosters hatched one day from eggs in mama’s nest Each was different, who could say which rooster was the best? Each a slightly different mix of parent DNA But which of them would father chicks? Only time would say. Five little roosters in a field, scratching in the ground Four of them kept their eyes peeled for predators around When some foxes came along and had to feed their pup The careless rooster’s genes were gone before he could grow up. Four little roosters in a tree, sleeping through the night Three of them were hard to see but one had feathers bright Late at night a great horned owl came swooping on the scene The bright little rooster may call “fowl” but won’t pass on his genes. Three little roosters crossed a road, I really don’t know why The auto traffic never slowed to let the birds go by Two of them were careful but the third ran right ahead (tires screeching) The reckless rooster never reproduced because he’s dead. Two little roosters grew ‘cause they could dodge and hide and run Sad but true, they knew with roosters there can be but one Brandishing their spurs one day, they faced each other down When one little rooster ran away, the other held his ground. Now there’s one little rooster squawking how his genes will rule them all And all the hens are flocking to his cock-a-doodle call He outlasted all the rest and you know what that means The rooster’s crow says, “I’m the best… so come and get my genes!”

They say we’re always dying But we’ve never been this close Hey the world is ending Soon we’ll all be ghosts Runaway trains rarely brake in time On a collision course Ignored all the cut lines Here comes a pale white horse They say we’re always dying But we’ve never been this close Hey the world is ending Soon we’ll all be ghosts We’ve heard all the stories again and again We all just laughed and laughed Blind to what’s around the bend We’ve given ourselves the shaft They say we’re always dying But we’ve never been this close Hey the world is ending Soon we’ll all be ghosts In the end nobody’s ready In the end we all just cry In the end it all just crumbles away When it’s time to fucking die They say we’re always dying But we’ve never been this close Hey the world is ending Soon we’ll all be ghosts We’ll all be ghosts We’ll all be ghosts We’ll all be ghosts We’ll all be ghosts

[Verse 1] D and D is a fickle art The dice are the gods of the end and start And though they seldom take my part Their beauty teases my goblin heart [Chorus] Math rocks go clicky clack. Gems of chance in a velvet sack. In every skill check, in each attack, Luck and disaster stand back to back. [Verse 2] A bandit ambush does not forgive Look alive if you want to live; The injured fighter’s a leaking sieve The DM says “roll for initiative!” [Chorus] [Verse 3] Can you pick that lock? can you dodge that blow? Can you swim out of the undertow? Can you charm that noble? For weal or woe The outcome hangs on a single throw [Chorus] [Verse 4] If you play this game you know life is frail; The worst can triumph, the best can fail. Oh, Roll the dice and you cheer or wail, And a friendly die is the Holy Grail! [Chorus] [Outro] Chance is our master; fade to black…

Some say that love is passion A burning in the breast Some say that love’s an epic A noble knightly quest But I say love’s a home and hearth That’s big enough for two ‘Cause I could just be happy Doing laundry and taxes with you Yeah, I could be so happy Doing laundry and taxes with you I can’t afford a mansion Can’t give you diamond rings I don’t have much to offer But ordinary things But if you’ll take me as I am We just might make it through ‘Cause I could just be happy Doing laundry and taxes with you Yeah, I could be so happy Doing laundry and taxes with you No need to climb a mountain Or swim the deepest sea I’d rather you be safe, dear And come back home to me ‘Cause even when our socks get lost And bills are overdue I still could just be happy Doing laundry and taxes with you Yeah, I could be so happy Doing laundry and taxes with you Though we may live a quiet life Our love is no less true Just know that I’m so happy To do laundry and taxes with you So happy just to be here Doing laundry and taxes with you

For always being drunk and causing fights We were kicked out by the Queen of Fairies Now I write the poems and play the mouse-pipes And help them lift a cow from time to time Ah for my life as a gonnagle, their bard I’m the one intelligent guy in my clan Advising male Feegles is very very hard There’s narry been a one with any sense What is a Nac Mac Feegle, you may ask? Six inches high an’ sporting bright red hair For a drink or two, I’ll take on the task Telling stories of the wee free men They've been a’travellin’ for a lang lang time An’ stealing food and drink ‘cross the universe Crossing worlds is one of their pastimes Straight leg and a wiggle’s all that’s needed Ah for my life as a gonnagle, their bard I’m the one intelligent guy in my clan Advising male Feegles is very very hard They don’t stop kicking long enough to hear But they are men of honour who’d only snag A horse or pig from those who’d never miss one Never rob from the weak and respect the hag That’s what they call their local witch, you ken Strong they are and fearless in combat Faster than humans and unseen by choice Powerful with boots and fond of head-butts Even taking on the hugest foes Ah for my life as a gonnagle, their bard I’m the one intelligent guy in my clan Advising male Feegles is very very hard They’re brawny as cockroaches and dumber So you should avoid the burial mounds Unless you are a friend of the Kelda And if you’re a lawyer then never come round Their swords’ll glow blue - you’ll soon be gone Ah for my life as a gonnagle, their bard I’m the one intelligent guy in my clan Advising male Feegles is very very hard Imagine tiny, tattooed soccer hooligans! Then try to unimagine them; you can’t

Rocket bye baby, we're off to the stars We're headin' to Venus, the Moon and to Mars Rocket bye baby space is so deep I'll sing you this song while you're goin' to sleep The Moon is your blanket, the Earth is your bed I'll give you the stars as a place for your head Sleep little baby at the close of the day I'll rock you to sleep while you're flyin' away We’ll cruise past Uranus and Jupiter’s moons Then ring around Saturn while singin’ this tune Pluto and Neptune are as cold as can be While one the hottest is Mercury We’ll swing past the planets, every last one The Milky Way calls us away from the Sun Fly through the stardust and nebulas too Where shining bright galaxies beckon to you So sleep in your cradle and dream of the ride Your mother and father are here by your side Our love will be with you wherever you are Our wishes for you are as countless as stars

Chant 1: Dreamers, Doers, Leaders Maiden Mother Crone Explorers Inventors, Healers Maiden Mother Crone My story’s been told and it’s older than time Older than fables or nursery rhymes They try me then try me then try to set fire to me Though I’ve committed no crimes Whatever the scene they aim to demean Peasant, princess, servant, or queen They try me then try me then cry to the sky Unclean, obscene, and everything in between No broom or bubbling cauldron There’s no evil in my eye But if whatever I do is called sin Then I confess that I I am nasty, I am timeless I will not be silenced| I am alive with fire and fury And I will fight ‘til the tide has turned We are nasty, we’re the forsaken We will not be shaken We are the daughters of the witches Your fathers failed to burn Chant 2: Sticks and stones, sticks and stones You hide the truth behind your thrones Destroy our names and steal our fame Still women’s voices rise again You say that you’re blessed, there’s no need to redress Surely your best destiny’s manifest Then profess I’m possessed, you detest and arrest Me, And suggest I confess to my sin But as you might have guessed, [I am] less than impressed You’re obsessed, grotesque, and repressed, I request I express my protest: Unless Yes is the Guest I attest the oppressed cannot win No broom or bubbling cauldron There’s no evil in my eye But if whatever I do is called sin Then I confess that I I am nasty, I am timeless Dreamers, Doers, Leaders I will not be silenced Maiden Mother Crone I am alive with fire and fury Explorers, Inventors, Healers And I will fight ‘til the tide has turned Maiden Mother Crone We are nasty, we’re the forsaken Dreamers, Doers, Leaders We will not be shaken Maiden Mother Crone We are the daughters of the witches Explorers, Inventors, Healers Your fathers failed to burn Maiden Mother Crone Sticks and stones, sticks and stones You hide the truth behind your throne Destroy our names and steal our fame Still women’s voices rise again No broom or bubbling cauldron There’s no evil in my eye But if whatever I do is called sin Then I confess that I I am nasty, I am timeless I will not be silenced I am alive with fire and fury And I will fight ‘til the tide has turned We are nasty, we’re the forsaken We will not be shaken We are the daughters of the witches Your fathers failed to burn Dreamers, Doers, Leaders Maiden Mother Crone Explorers Inventors, Healers Maiden Mother Crone We are nasty, we are timeless We will not be silenced We are the daughters of the witches Your fathers failed to burn
